FAQs

Does cast iron cookware require seasoning?

It depends on the surface.
Bare cast iron requires seasoning to prevent rust and build a natural non-stick layer, while enamel-coated cast iron does not need seasoning.

How do I maintain cast iron cookware?

Bare cast iron should be cleaned with warm water, dried immediately and protected with a very thin layer of oil before storage. Enameled cast iron can be cleaned with warm water and a soft sponge. Avoid aggressive cleaning tools that may damage the enamel.

Is the cookware dishwasher safe?

Dishwasher is not recommended.
Mild soap can be used occasionally, but frequent use may affect the seasoning layer.

Why does cast iron rust?

Rust can occur if the pan is left wet or not properly dried.
It can usually be removed and re-seasoned.
